Native Son’s presentation of their RTW Fall 2012 Collection marked their first of a four season collaboration with North Carolina based Raleigh Denim. (One of my favorite denim brands.) The objective of the collaboration is to develop product that pays homage to the manufacturing techniques of the lat 1800’s.
The LA-based designer, formally a design assistant for Band of Outsiders, has leant a keen esthetic to the menswear industry with combining a superb selection of trims and fabrications with sophisticated and well tailored pieces.
Additionally their seasonal videos showcasing their collections have pushed the boundaries of fashion films. Their latest, for Fall/Winter 2012, continues in the same vein outlining a wandering man in search of the true meaning of home through internal struggles. The film is meant to highlight the psychological battle of a modern man in his search of the future.
With that said, looks like the evolution of Native Son over the next few years will be one to watch.
